Lego will return to Strathpine Community Centre, and Pine Rivers MP Mr Seath Holswich will make his debut as a Lego exhibitor, this Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend.

After its success in 2013, the BrisBricks Pine Rivers Lego Fan Expo will be held over the three days of the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend.

“Last year nearly 7,000 people attended the Expo and around $17,000 was raised for local community organisations,” Mr Holswich said.

“This year we hope to see even more people enjoying the amazing creations at this family friendly event.”

A feature again this year will be a closed session for children with autism and their families.

“This session is a fantastic initiative of BrisBricks and allows for children with autism to enjoy the Expo in a quieter session where crowd numbers are strictly controlled.”

As well as organizing and sponsoring the Expo, Mr Holswich will also take on the role of Exhibitor at this year’s Expo.

“After last year’s Expo I decided to build my own display for this year’s Expo and settled on Canberra’s iconic Old Parliament House.”

The model stands at two metres long and is made up of approximately 25,000 Lego bricks.

“Every boy grows up dreaming of creating something like this, so being able to exhibit at a Lego Expo is certainly the fulfilment of my childhood dream!”

“But this Expo is about more than just Lego and will again provide a range of benefits for local businesses and community organisations.”

“Organising this Expo helps to deliver on my commitments to support local businesses and community organisations as well as giving local families the opportunity to enjoy a cheap day out.”
