10/01/2014

State Member for Pine Rivers, Mr Seath Holswich MP, has outlined his top priorities for the Pine Rivers electorate for 2014.

Mr Holswich stated that these priorities have emerged as important issues through his regular consultation with the local community, including his Mobile Offices and the 2013 Annual Pine Rivers Survey.

"These issues will be getting a lot of attention from me during 2014," Mr Holswich said. "They are issues that the Pine Rivers community have told me are important, and I will be working towards positive outcomes for Pine Rivers in each of these areas this year."

Mr Holswich's top 5 local priorities for 2014 are:

1. Assisting Families & Businesses with Cost of Living Relief
Continuing to work with residents and businesses on ways to reduce the rising costs of living and costs of doing business

2. Strengthening & Supporting Families
Supporting organisations, issues and causes to help build stronger families - with a particular focus on young families and early intervention

3. Supporting Local Businesses to Bring More Jobs into Pine Rivers
Working with local businesses to boost the Pine Rivers economy

4. Strengthening Local Community Organisations
Working with local community and volunteer-based organisations to assist them in serving our community

5. Implementing The Queensland Plan in Pine Rivers
Developing a vision and action plan for an even better Pine Rivers

"Cost of living relief and building a stronger Pine Rivers economy were part of my priorities in 2013," Mr Holswich said. "They are important, and there is still a lot more work to do in each area, so they remain high on my priority list this year."

Mr Holswich will progressively announce initiatives in each of these areas in coming months and will record his progress in addressing each of these areas on his website (www.seathholswich.com), on his "Report Card" page.

Mr Holswich acknowledges that there are many other important priorities that will also need addressing in the coming year.

"This is not an exclusive list," he said. "I will still be working hard on many other areas, but based on my observations and feedback from the Pine Rivers community, these will be issues that I will be giving extra focus to in 2014."
