Strathpine Families to Benefit from Additional Kindergarten Funding

Strathpine families will benefit from an additional renovation grant allocated to a Strathpine kindergarten last week.

Strathpine Community Kindergarten, based in Brennan Parade Strathpine, will receive an additional $50,000 towards facility improvements being undertaken under the Newman Government's Kindergarten Renovation and Refurbishment Grant Program. These funds are in addition to the original grant of $82,753.64 allocated earlier in 2013.

"Strathpine Community Kindergarten have received this funding to construct a new office, new foyer and new multi-purpose space for their centre," Mr Seath Holswich, State Member for Pine Rivers said today.

"Additional structural issues were identified during construction and this additional $50,000 will assist in rectifying those issues."

"Ultimately the children and families who belong to the centre will be the beneficiaries of these improved facilities, and this $132,753.64 funding is a demonstration of the Newman Government's commitment to funding essential frontline early childhood education services."

"If we are to build a better Pine Rivers for decades to come, then funding that benefits early childhood education is a good investment."

"Strathpine Community Kindergarten have continually impressed me with their dedication to their families and I know this funding will enhance their ability to continue to deliver high quality services to the Strathpine community."
