Child Safety is Everyone's Business
Child Protection Week has kicked off with a reminder that child safety is everybody's business. Member for Pine Rivers, Mr Seath Holswich, said the week, which runs from 1st to 7th September 2013, aims to raise the profile of child protection issues as well as teaching children and young people how they can best protect themselves. "I encourage everyone to get behind Child Protection Week and take part in community events to help remind us that we all play a part in making our state the safest place to raise a child," Mr Holswich said. The Newman Government contributed more than $105,000 to Child Protection Week community-based events to help spread the word that protecting children and young people is everybody's business.
