LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUPS BOOSTED BY GAMBLING BENEFIT FUND GRANTS

Millions of dollars have been provided across Queensland through the latest round of Gambling Community Benefit Fund grants.
Mr Seath Holswich said organisations within the Pine Rivers electorate to receive funding in this round were:
· Dayboro Bowls Club $30,300 to upgrade toilet facilities
· Pine Rivers Netball Association $12,890 to install security and PA systems
· Pine Rivers Netball Association $36,815 to construct training rebound wall and slabs
· Pine Rivers Rapids Baseball Club $27,620 to rewire baseball backnets
· Strathpine YMCA Early Childhood Centre $27,255.52 to purchase furniture and resources
· Albany Creek Cricket Club $35,000 to install a shade structure
· Lawnton Kindergarten & Preschool $18,150 to paint interior and exterior of a building
In the Kallangur electorate Mr Trevor Ruthenberg said he was pleased to announce funding for:
· RSPCA Dakabin $31,808 to purchase medical equipment
· Scout Association Murrumba District $40,909 to upgrade den facilities
“Organisations such as these contribute so greatly to the wider community and it is fantastic to be able to support them financially,” Mr Ruthenberg said.
“These grants will provide much needed funds for community groups and ensure these organisations are able to deliver ongoing facilities and activities which benefit our local area and local residents”.
“These grants are designed for approved not-for-profit organisations and are not intended to replace existing sources of support for these organisations,” Mr Holswich added.
