BRENDALE INTERSECTION TO RECEIVE SAFETY UPGRADE
State Member for Pine Rivers, Mr Seath Holswich, has today announced minor upgrades to improve safety for motorists at the intersection of South Pine Road and Leitchs Road in Brendale.
Changes will be made to the traffic signals by Department of Transport and Main Roads after concerns were raised with Mr Holswich by local business owners.
"As I visited businesses located near this intersection, several business owners raised concerns about this intersection," Mr Holswich said.
"The concerns primarily related to safety issues with the turning lanes, particularly the eastbound and northbound directions, where there are currently no right turn arrows."
A dedicated right turn arrow will be added to the existing traffic signals to improve safety for motorists travelling eastbound on South Pine Road turning right into Leitchs Road.
A dedicated right turn arrow will also be added to the existing traffic signals for motorists travelling northbound on Leitchs Road turning right into South Pine Road.
"These changes will improve safety for the increasing number of motorists using this intersection."
The changes will be implemented in the coming months.
