Queensland Music Festival Investment

The Newman Government is delivering on its commitment of Arts for All Queenslanders, investing $3.2 million dollars in the 2013 Queensland Music Festival.

Member for Pine Rivers Seath Holswich said 36 communities across the State will be home to performances during the Festival.

"The Queensland Music Festival will create unique musical experiences that connect locals with the community, while highlighting the richness and variety of our region."

"There is a rich pool of talented performers in our local area and this is a wonderful chance for them to take centre stage."

Member for Kallangur Trevor Ruthenberg said locals are also being invited to other major events that are being held during the Festival.

Home Deep Is Your Love, a home grown tribute to the Bee Gees, will be held at the Brisbane Riverstage and is not to be missed.

Locals are also urged to take part in the World's Biggest Orchestra, where thousands of people will come together in a record- breaking attempt to make musical history.

Queensland Music Festival Artistic director James Morrison said the festival was committed to transforming lives through unforgettable musical experiences.

"This Festival is for everyone. We are inviting all Queenslanders to be part of the World's Biggest Orchestra. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity," Mr Morrison said.

"We'll start with Waltzing Matilda, and then play Beethoven's Ode to Joy and for the grand finale we're going to rock out with Queen's iconic We Will Rock You."
