Cost of Living Relief on Forum Agenda
State Member for Pine Rivers, Seath Holswich MP, is delivering on his commitment to assist Pine Rivers residents with cost of living relief, through a Forum to be held in Warner in June.
The Cost of Living Forum, to be held at Pendicup Place Community Centre in Warner on Tuesday 11th June, will be an opportunity for Pine Rivers residents to discuss cost of living issues and to receive information about ways to ease cost of living pressures.
Minister for Energy and Water Supply, The Hon Mark McArdle MP, will be a guest speaker at the Forum.
"I am pleased to have secured the Minister as a guest speaker for this Forum," Mr Holswich said.
"This will be an opportunity for Pine Rivers residents to raise issues of concern about electricity and water bills with the Minister as well as hearing more about the strategies the Newman Government are implementing to ease cost of living pressures."
Mr Holswich will also be launching a new resource that will provide information to Pine Rivers residents about various ways they can ease pressures on household budgets.
"Providing cost of living relief isn't the sole responsibility of the government," Mr Holswich said. "We each need to take personal responsibility to ensure we're getting the most out of every dollar we earn."
"There is a lot of information around and a lot of businesses who are offering cost-effective services for local residents. This new resource will endeavour to bring a lot of this information together in one convenient location for local residents."
The Forum will also include a panel discussion, a question and answer session and resources will be available for attendees to assist in easing cost of living pressures.
Mr Holswich listed tackling cost of living issues as one of his top five priorities for 2013.
"Cost of living relief remains a high priority for Pine Rivers residents, and I will continue to do whatever I can to assist in easing these pressures for local residents."
