Metro North Hospital and Health Service on the right track

Members for Pine Rivers and Kallangur, Seath Holswich and Trevor Ruthenberg said today's performance figures showed Metro North Hospital and Health Service were on the right track.

The new data, published in select newspapers across the state, showed that Metro North hospitals were working hard to improve patient waiting times.

‘‘The Metro North Health Board is doing an excellent job at steering the Hospital and Health Service in the right direction,'' Mr Ruthenberg said.

Mr Holswich "We acknowledge Metro North is a large and complex metropolitan health service which provides many state-wide services and improvements in their statistical data will take some time to reflect the positive changes that the Board have made."

Minister for Health Lawrence Springborg said the Metro North Board was working on plans to transform the service.

"The Board Chair, Dr Alexander has been sharing with me the Board's vision for long term plans to transform the service into a patient centred connected and sustainable health service for improved patient care," he said.

"I look forward to seeing more and recognise the extensive planning and work that goes into changing such a complex system."

Mr Springborg said the data showed improved results in emergency department's length of stay and category three elective surgery waiting times.
