Strathpine Business Renewal on Holswich's Agenda

Member for Pine Rivers, Mr Seath Holswich, has announced today that he will be hosting a Strathpine Business Forum to start a discussion on ways to renew and reinvigorate the Strathpine Business District.

"Over the past 12 months it has become increasingly clear to me that Strathpine needs a boost to ensure we remain a strong business and retail precinct well into the future," Mr Holswich said.

"There are too many ‘for lease' signs in windows along Gympie Rd and we need to look at strategies to reinvigorate the area."

"Whilst the Strathpine Gateway Project has the potential to provide a massive injection for the Strathpine community, we can't just sit back for the next few years and expect the Gateway Project to be the solution to all the suburbs' challenges."

"This Forum, to be held on Monday night 6th May, is intended to be a catalyst to open up further discussion and to create a plan of attack so that we can build a better Strathpine."

Mr Holswich is issuing an invitation for all business owners, community members and interested parties to attend the Forum.

"This will be a brainstorming and networking session," Mr Holswich said. "We need to get all stakeholders together and work together towards a positive future for Strathpine."

"To get all stakeholders in a room and working together on common short and long term goals will set us on the path to future success for our region."

Mr Holswich started a similar process with tourism and recreation operators in Dayboro in mid-2012.

Mr Holswich has listed jobs growth in the Pine Rivers economy as one of his top five priorities for 2013 and this Forum is one of many actions he is undertaking to assist the Pine Rivers business community.

The Forum is free to attend, however rsvp's are requested. For more information about the Forum, or to download an information flyer, go to the "Events" tab at
