Community Embracing AJ Wyllie Celebration

03/12/2012

Local MPs have been overwhelmed with support leading up to this Saturday's AJ Wyllie Bridge Community Celebration, with over 60 stall holders already confirmed.

Mr Trevor Ruthenberg, State Member for Kallangur, said that the overwhelming response is testament to the importance of the bridge re-opening to our local community.

"Business owners, commuters and residents have suffered through two years of serious inconvenience, and for many business owners it's driven them close to the wall. We can't underestimate just how important the re-opening of this bridge is to our community."

Mr Seath Holswich, State Member for Pine Rivers, added that there will be something for everyone at Saturday's celebration.

"There will be on stage entertainment throughout the afternoon, Caboolture's 101.5FM will be broadcasting on site, there will be a wide variety of food stalls, community group displays, business displays and kids activities."

Some of the highlights include:
• 101.5FM broadcasting live on site
• Ducks and chickens live animal display for children
• Zumba demonstration
• Variety of food stalls
• Fairy Floss
• Rural Fire Brigade truck display
• Craft & baby clothes market stalls
• Community group stalls
• Decendants of AJ Wyllie will be attending

Car parking will be available around Wyllie Park at the Paper Mill car park, Sweeney Reserve, Mathieson Park and Leis Park. Wyllie Park itself will be closed to vehicles for the duration of the celebration.

The Community Celebration is an initiative of Seath Holswich MP, Trevor Ruthenberg MP and The Hon Peter Dutton MP.
