Holswich Going Back to School

State Member for Pine Rivers, Mr Seath Holswich, will be going back to school next week as part of his on-going "day in the life of" commitment.

Mr Holswich will be spending a day with Year 5 teachers at Bray Park State School, in order to gain a greater understanding of the pressures and demands faced daily by teachers.

"I met with a group of teachers while their EBA was being negotiated earlier this year and they invited me to spend a day with them to gain a better understanding of their job."

"I am pleased to be able to accept that invitation and look forward to spending a day with them - in class, on playground duty, in the staffroom, at assembly."

"As a parent of two primary school children, I am keen to experience our state school system from a teachers' perspective."

Mr Holswich has committed to spending "a day in the life of" various groups in the Pine Rivers community every quarter. Earlier this year he spent a day with families impacted by acquired brain injuries and another day volunteering at local Visitor Information Centres.

"I firmly believe that if I am to represent my electorate effectively, then I need to be spending time on the ground, getting to know what happens in our community. This is part of my commitment to Pine Rivers."
