Local MPs are celebrating the achievements of local State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers by marking SES week.

SES Week is a national event that celebrates and marks the achievements of thousands of Queensland men and women who volunteer to assist their community during emergencies.

"SES week is a fantastic celebration of the work Queensland's SES volunteers perform when the community needs them most," Mr Trevor Ruthenberg said.

"Every SES group makes a valued contribution to their communities after emergencies such as floods, cyclones and large-scale search and rescue operations," Mr Ruthenberg said.

Member for Pine Rivers, Mr Seath Holswich, thanked all local SES volunteers for their support of the local community.

"Thank you to all those hardworking SES volunteers who serve our community every day and provide a valuable service in times of need," Mr Holswich said.

"As we enter storm season, I know the local SES volunteers are well prepared to react to the needs of the community."

Mr Ruthenberg and Mr Holswich reminded all locals to mark SES week by wearing orange on Wednesday 14th November and to consider joining the SES.

"I would encourage anyone in the electorate to consider the rewarding opportunity to assist the community, and join your local SES Group." Mr Ruthenberg said.
