Route 669 Bus Trial to Continue
State Member for Pine Rivers, Mr Seath Holswich, has confirmed that the Route 669 bus trial will continue while a full review of the bus network takes place.
Mr Holswich said that this announcement provides a level of certainty for local commuters in the short term.
"The trial was originally extended until the end of October, but I have received confirmation from the Minister for Transport and Main Roads that the trial will continue until the South East Queensland Bus Network Review is completed," Mr Holswich said.
"Any decisions about alterations to Route 669 will be made within the context of the full network review."
"I fought for this bus route to be established in the first place after services were cruelly cut under the previous government, and I will continue to fight to see this route become a permanent part of the network."
Mr Holswich has encouraged commuters to keep using their bus services regularly if they want them to continue permanently.
"Whether it's the 669 or any other bus service, the best way to guarantee continued services is for these services to be well patronised."
